The holiday season is just around the corner (how is it Canadian Thanksgiving
next week?!), and we know how important it is to get your decorations sorted
ahead of time.
One of the most important pieces of holiday decor is the garland. It's a
versatile piece that can be used in a variety of ways, from adorning your
Christmas tree to hanging on your mantel or your stairs.
Artificial or Faux Garlands
If you're looking to spruce up your home or office space during the holiday
season, artificial garland is a great decor option to consider. Faux garlands,
artificial garlands, fake garlands - whatever you call them, there are a few
reasons why artificial foliage is the way to go.
Artificial garland is a type of decoration made from synthetic materials like
plastic or fabric. It mimics the appearance of natural or real garland but has
many positive benefits. It's more durable and long-lasting than fresh garland.
It won't dry out or shed needles, meaning you can use it year after
year.
It's often more affordable than real garland, which means you can get more
bang for your buck. And, advancements have been made in terms of design that
you can find realistic looking garlands that will have your holiday guests
fooled.

Why Buy Artificial Christmas Garlands Now?
The holiday season is always a busy time of year, and one of the biggest
sources of stress can be decorating your home. Between shopping for gifts,
cooking holiday meals, and attending various gatherings, it's no wonder that
many people put off holiday decorating until the last minute. But you can
alleviate a lot of that stress with a little early holiday prep.
Get the best selection and best price
Buying faux garland now, before the holiday rush, is a smart move. I can't tell you how many times I've thought about adding something to my Christmas decor only to find all of the best options are already sold out.
Popular styles and colors of garland may sell out quickly, leaving you with
limited options. Realistic touch garlands are trending for Christmas decor so
more shoppers will be looking for the same things you want in your home. For
artificial garlands,
the most popular styles will sell out by the beginning of November, so
shop early!
Buying holiday garland during the peak of the season can also be quite
expensive. Retailers know that many people are willing to pay top dollar for
festive decorations, so they may raise their prices accordingly.
Less stressful decorating
Buying faux garland early also gives you plenty of time to start decorating
your home well before the holiday season begins. You can take your time
putting up your artificial wreaths, setting a variety of garlands on the
fireplace mantel or hanging them on stair railings.
This can help reduce stress and allow you to enjoy the festive atmosphere of
your home for a longer period of time. You may even be inspired to get
creative and come up with new ideas for how to decorate your space with your
new garland. Plus, you'll have the peace of mind knowing that you have one
less thing to worry about come holiday season.
What to Look for When Buying Faux Holiday Garland
Not everyone wants to deal with the hassle of a real garland, which is why faux garlands have become an increasingly popular choice. If you're considering purchasing a faux holiday garland, here are a few things to keep in mind.Materials:
Consider the materials used in making the garland. Look for garlands made of high-quality materials such as PVC or PE plastic, which will ensure longevity and durability.
You may also want to consider garlands with added features such as UV
protection or fire resistance, especially if you plan to use the garland
outside. If the garland contains LED lights, you'll want to check if they are
rated for indoor or outdoor use.
Quality:
Next, pay attention to the quality and durability of the garland. Check for tightly wound wires, sturdy branches, and secure attachments like artificial flowers and berries. A high-quality garland will withstand wear and tear, and hold up for years to come. Don't be afraid to gently pull on branches or bend the garland to test its flexibility and strength.Size:
Not all garlands are the same. You'll want to consider where you're placing your garland in order to determine what size garland you need - and if you need to purchase more than one!
Are you hanging the garland around your front door? Will it be laying flat on
your mantel? Or will you have it swagged on the stair rail? Check out these

Style:
Finally, consider the style and design of the garland. Faux garlands come in a variety of styles, from classic greenery to flower garlands to more whimsical options. You can also select from different foliage or types of evergreen such as cedar, pine, or fir.
Choose a garland that fits your personal aesthetic and complements your
existing holiday decor. You may also want to consider added embellishments
such as lights, pinecones, or berries, which can add an extra touch of festive
cheer to your Christmas display.
Price and Shipping:
When it comes to comparing prices and quality of garland from different stores, it's important to keep in mind that you often get what you pay for. Cheaper garland may be more affordable, but it may not be as realistic looking or long-lasting as a higher-end option. Take some time to read reviews and compare prices to find a garland that fits your budget and your style.
You'll also want to be aware of what's driving the cost - are you paying for a
pre-lit garland, when you can buy a cheaper garland instead and embellish it
with your own Christmas lights? Also take into account shipping costs.
Shipping a big, bulky box of garland can be pricy so look out for sites that
offer free shipping.

How to Store Garlands
If you're not quite ready to deck the halls, you'll want to store your artificial garland for the time being. However, properly storing faux holiday garland can be a challenge. Improper storage can lead to tangling, damage, and a shorter lifespan for your garland. But don't worry, with a few simple tips and tricks, you can ensure your garland stays in pristine condition year after year.
Choose the right container
It's important to store your garland in a cool, dry place. This will prevent any moisture from damaging the material and keep the colors from fading. Consider these options:- A good option is to use a plastic container with a lid to keep dust and pests out. Be sure to wrap your garland loosely around your arm, then gently place it inside the container. This will help prevent any tangling and damage while in storage.
- You can also store your garland in a cardboard box. I find that cube shaped moving boxes work exceptionally well for this task. I use these boxes to store my artificial Christmas wreaths and garlands together. Place wreaths on the bottom, and then wind the faux evergreen garland into a circle shape and stack it on top.
- Another great option for storing your garland is to use a hanger. Simply drape your garland over a hanger, cover it with a garbage bag, and place it in a closet or storage room. This method helps to maintain the shape of the garland while also keeping it off the ground to avoid any potential damage.
-
If you're short on space, a great option for storing your garland is to
use a
jumbo size vacuum seal bag. This will compress the garland, making it easier to store in a small
space. Just be sure to fluff the garland back to its original shape once
you take it out of the bag.
When making your purchase, be sure to consider factors such as materials,
fullness, and storage options. Finally, remember that the holiday season is
about enjoying time with loved ones, not stressing over decorations. By
purchasing your artificial garland early, you can kick back and relax knowing
that you've got one less thing to worry about this year!
