Modern Plaid Outdoor Mats (Designed by Me!)
If you've been reading here a while, you know my love for plaid runs deep.
Plaid and all its variations - tartan, windowpane, gingham, buffalo check - I
love them all.
So it happens, I've been on the search for a plaid outdoor mat for a while.
After we
relaid our walkway
and
painted our front porch
this summer, I knew I wanted a new welcome mat at the front door. But finding
one with a modern plaid design and contemporary colours was a challenge.
And then I remembered... I had a Society 6 shop and could just design my own welcome mat!
Read all the way through for details on the 40% off sale 11/2 to 11/8 for this
welcome mat!
As a bonus for Rambling Renovators readers, click here to get $15 off your first purchase in my Society6 shop.
If you're not familiar with
Society 6, it's a site where you can upload your original artwork and have it
printed on almost anything from pillows to phone cases. You can then make
those products available for anyone to shop and earn a small commission.
In
my own shop, I offer select home decor products and
travel photography prints. But the great thing is, if you like my design but want it on a different
product, say on
an iPhone case, just let me know and I can make that product available instantly!
But let's get back to this
outdoor welcome mat...
Plaid Outdoor Mat
Rug Design and Construction
I am SO impressed with this rug! It features a looped vinyl with a latex
backing. The rug has some weight and doesn't feel flimsy. I think it'll do a
good job of staying put, won't slide around, or be tossed easily by the
wind.
Most outdoor rugs I've had are made of coir and unfortunately they wear very
easily and look their colour quickly. In contrast, the colours on this rug
are vibrant and stay true to my design. You can see how it's captured even
the slightest variations in dark blue and light blue.
Durability
The loops are firm and attached securely to the latex backing. I think the
looped design will do a good job of trapping dirt. I imagine that this rug
will be easy to clean, with just a quick shake or washing down with a hose.
Sizing
This size is the 30"x20". Society6 just started offering a 36"x24" size and
I would have ordered that if it was available earlier. This size is good for
a single door, but if you have sidelights on either side of your door like
we do, you might want to opt for the larger rugs.
Do you like to layer your outdoor rugs? You can definitely do that with this
mat! A typical standard 18"x30" welcome mat would look great layered on the
larger 36"x24" Society6 mat.
Pricing and Canadian Delivery - and a 40% off sale!
For the quality of the mat, I think the price is excellent. Society 6 prices
are in US $ but even with the exchange, it's a fair price. In addition to
the rugs, I LOVE their new smartphone cases with hidden spot for a credit card AND mirror! There's lots of
options for gifting.
The welcome mats are produced in the US. For reference, I ordered the mat on
Oct.9th, it shipped out Oct.22nd, and landed on my doorstep on Oct.29th.
There were no additional duties either!
And lucky readers - from Nov.2 to Nov.8 you can enjoy 40% Off Throw Pillows, Throw Blankets
+ Welcome Mats + 30% Off Everything Else!
I'm sure I'm not the only plaid outdoor rug enthusiast, so I've put together
a whole collection
for you to shop! This
collection
features various plaid designs in modern colour palettes. And I've
incorporated some holiday colours that I think would be a great addition to
your Christmas exterior decor!
For a limited time, I'm also offering custom colour combinations. If
there's a particular colour you wanted, let me know and I can create a rug
just for you.
I hope you enjoy these welcome mats and all of the products in
my online shop. I've had fun designing them (and I think I'll have to do a stripes
collection for summer!)
