Life Lately
We're in the home stretch now, closing in on the last few weeks of summer. I've been intent on squeezing out every moment in the sunshine that I can. It's so much easier to be happy in the summer, don't you find? Here's a snippet of what's bringing me happiness lately.
I'm humbled and thankful to be featured as the Blogger of the Month in Better Homes and Gardens September 2016 issue. BHG is one of my go-to sources for design inspiration (their Pinterest boards are awesome) and I love working with them as a contributor so it's a bit of a thrill to get a thumbs-up and be featured in their pages.
Chloe is obsessed with writing comics lately. This is part of one of her stories, Foodie Adventures, about breakfast foods that almost get eaten by a dog. I love that she's able to convey a storyline and humour in just a few pages. But the best is seeing the little parts of her personality develop. Even when we're filming a video, she already has the whole narrative planned out in her head. Maybe she'll become a writer some day.
This dessert has been on repeat all.month.long. Ontario peaches brushed with butter and brown sugar, then grilled on the barbeque, and drizzled with honey. Yummmmmm.
I finally made a visit out to Penney and Co. The store is as charming as I imagined. I wanted to buy everything! I made do though with a white enamel colander and two cute footed enamel bowls. I'll definitely be back.
This photo was taken by one of my girlfriends on her visit to our cottage. That's all of our kids 'rowing' the dock. It was Chloe's idea and she does a good job of convincing others to join in on her crazy ideas ;) Love this image but it has an 'end of summer' feeling to it that is making me weepy. I'm so not ready for fall :(
