A Back Porch Makeover
Have you ever had days that just seemed to disappear? That's what much of the past month has felt like. In the blink of an eye, summer faded and I never shared with you how the rest of the back porch makeover turned out. It used to look like this:
I have to tell you - I'm loving this space. Just painting the walls and floors completely transformed it. It feels so much more inviting and cleaner. I love walking around without my shoes now. That never happened before! The other thing that is happening is napping. Fall naps outside, curled up under a blanket, are pretty much one of my favourite things ever.
The transformation isn't completely finished. I had wanted to make outdoor curtains to provide some privacy and I never did get around to sewing up new pillow covers but that will have to wait until next season. One project that did get finished is outdoor art. I fed my blurry beach art obsession and made a panoramic print mounted on a DIY frame. You can check out the How To over on the BLACKS blog.
Even though the cool weather has arrived, I intend to be out here as long as I can. I feel like we've gained a whole other room in our house. I'm hoping to do some outdoor entertaining here and enjoy a few more meals al fresco. This will be a good spot to enjoy hot chocolate, don't you think?
