Design Lessons
Do you ever visit showhomes? They are such a great source of design inspiration. Not only do they incorporate the latest materials but they are typically designed by renowned designers and really feature smart and beautiful ideas. You can learn so much just by looking around!
This weekend, along with a few other bloggers, I had a chance to tour the Princess Margaret Welcome Home Sweepstakes grand prize showhome with its designer, Brian Gluckstein. Brian is a master at creating sophisticated and timeless classic spaces. It was fun to hear the how's and why's behind the design of the house - and to find out that don't need a multi-million dollar home to incorporate some of these design ideas. Here's a few tips I picked up.

I've seen many of the previous show homes like this one and this one but this one seemed instantly livable. It was very clever, well thought out, and I adored the finishes. Aside from the house, it was great to hear Brian talk about how Pinterest has changed his business and to hear about the blogs he reads (this one is a favourite).
