Contemporary Moulding and Trim
One of my favourite features of our house is the trim and moulding we've added throughout. We have wainscot in the living room, beadboard in the basement bathroom, a board and batten treatment in the bedroom... can you tell we love trimwork??
When I was approached by the folks at Metrie to talk about their new collections, I jumped at the chance. I feel like moulding is having a renaissance and traditional mouldings bring something special to contemporary spaces. Now I've always loved going to the lumberyard and digging through the bins to mix and match trim pieces, but I know it's not a task for everyone. With their new Then & Now Finishing Collections, Metrie has taken out the guesswork and make it simple for anyone to create unique and cohesive looks for interior spaces. Check out these images:

Mouldings and trim aren't things you always notice
but they are things you feel
While you can't purchase off the Metrie site, you can research your products and go to your local dealer knowing exactly which trims you need. (We go to Central Fairbank on Steeles Ave. It has a huge selection of Metrie products). There is also an online Room Styler which can help you visualize how various mouldings will look together. See? Easy.
Have you added architectural detail to your home with trims and moulding? I have a whole Pinterest board full of millwork ideas if you need more inspiration.
This post sponsored by Metrie. All opinions and genuine enthusiasm for trim is my own.
