A Sweet Scalloped Tray
I'm really sweet on the scallop these days. I think it's a fun pattern that isn't overused like, say, the chevron. So when Canadian Tire sent over some of their FrogTape Shape Tape to try, I was very excited. I've been on the hunt for Shape Tape since I saw it on a few U.S. blogs last year. I had wanted to use the Shape Tape Scallop on Chloe's Make-Believe Station but I couldn't find it anywhere so I'm happy to hear its finally hitting Canadian Tire shelves. I decided to DIY a little scalloped tray - a Mother's Day treat for me!
1. You'll need FrogTape Shape Tape, craft paint, and a wood tray (mine was from the Dollar store).
2. Peel the protective backing off one half of the tape.
3. Apply the tape to the tray. Press firmly to remove any air or creases.
4. Paint the scallop with craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat of paint. Apply a protective coat of polyurethane if desired.
5. Remove the tape.
Isn't she cute? I love quick and easy projects. You can use a tray like this to hold most anything: office supplies, bathroom toiletries, jewellry. I have this sitting on my vanity now to display all those pretty little things that I usually have tucked away.
How about you? Have you DIY'd any projects lately?
