Interior Design Show IDS14
It's a big week for design here in Toronto. Many brands are hosting their spring previews, folks like Delta Faucet Canada hold events to get to know bloggers a bit better, and then we all converge on the biggest event of the year, the Interior Design Show. I couldn't attend last year as I was at Alt Summit so I am more than ready for my design fix. Never been to IDS? Here's a taste of what you can expect:
There are many 'home shows' in Toronto - but IDS isn't like that. Yes, you can find home products like paint, kitchen cabinetry, and rugs but this show is more about inspiration, seeing the latest trends, and being blown away by the design possibilities. It is that good. It's a huge show but I've already scoped out a few things that can't be missed:
1. Sarah Richardson and Kravet
I got a preview of Sarah's new fabric line for Kravet back in the summer but I can't wait to see an entire booth bedecked in Sarah's signature palette of watery blues. Sarah has been sharing peeks of the booth on her instagram. Eeek!
2. IKEA
IKEA always creates a standout booth that leaves you saying "I can't believe that's IKEA!". Here's their moody kitchen display from last year. How are they going to outdo this?? We'll have to wait and see!
3. Cocoon Furnishings
Cocoon Furnishings is the exclusive distributor of the Aerin Lauder home decor and furnishings collection and they will be launching the line at IDS14. I love Aerin's feminine glamourous style and her fondness for everything gold. Really excited to see this collection in person.
There is so much more to IDS: presenters, seminars, student work, even a unique shopping bazaar. You can buy your tickets here. Will I see you there?
