O Christmas Tree
Its time to share our Christmas tree with you. I had put it up and decorated it a few weeks ago, but I only wrapped the gifts this week so didn't take any photos earlier. Because who wants to see a tree without any presents beneath it? Not me. That's like a gingerbread house without icing, or Santa without a hat. Not very Christmassy at all ;)
I fall in love with my house all over again during the holidays. It feels calm and relaxed, even when its full of visitors. It must be the way the afternoon sun shines through the windows and makes the ornaments sparkle. Or how the decorations fill everyday rooms with soul. I love the smells this time of year, of baked goods and fresh greenery, of candy canes and cups overflowing with hot chocolate.
The tree has a real homey feel this year. Pinecones, owls, mushrooms, twig balls... they've all found a home along with the crystal icicles and sparkly balls. I'm not much of a red person but I've found that the tree needs that hit of crimson. It brings everything else come alive.
I hope your home is feeling the holiday magic too!
