Project Playhouse Plans

Good guesses on the last post... but you were all incorrect. That bracket is hopefully turning into...

I wish I could show you more progress on the under-the-stairs playhouse but the book has been eating up all our free time lately. I've been collecting some ideas and materials though on how to make this wee project happen (you can see more on my Pinterest board).

The doorway to the playhouse is a little wide and I think this DIY baby gate idea would be a great way to address it. We could make our door a bit more refined looking but this is a good plan to start with.

For the interior, I really wanted to do vintage wallpaper. This etsy seller has some great ones. But shipping and yardage would cost me about $65 and I didn't want to spend that much on a temporary space which Chloe might outgrow in 2-3 years. So I'm going with the cheaper option of using a stencil. This one is on its way to me. I'll have to decide what colour to paint the stencil based on these three fabrics...

I decided to go with the Terrace Stripe Grey for the awning. Since the awning will protrude out from the wall and into the hallway a little, I wanted a fabric that would blend into the white surroundings but had a bit of interest. The Links Citrus and Hibiscus pink will be used for pillows and cushions inside the little playhouse. Chloe is big on pink these days so it has to be used somewhere!

And that's the plan. Now to find time to execute it!

Do you have half-finished projects waiting to be done? Tell me I'm not the only one!
