Pretty Package Gift Wrap Inspiration for the Holidays
The older I get, the more I appreciate the small things. Thoughtful gestures, kind words... the same goes for gift-wrapped packages. I love it when someone takes the time to wrap with simple yet special details. It becomes part of the gift!
My friend Stefanie at Brooklyn Limestone asked a few bloggers to participate in her Pretty Package series and provide inspiration for your holiday wrapping. I thought I'd go with something a bit homespun with old-school details and a dash of whimsy. Here's my Envelope Wrapped Gift with Notepaper Tag and DIY Washi Tape Decal (try saying that 3 times fast!):
First step is to create the decal. Here's a quick video on How To Make a DIY Washi Tape Decal:
Easy, right? You can customize the decal in so many ways... use different coloured washi to create a candy cane decal, use glitter washi for a star decal. Have fun with it!
Next, you wrap the gift to look like an envelope.
Almost done! Time to add the tag. I created these labels to look like lined paper. Click here to download the labels and print on any 4"x2" shipping label 10-per sheet (I used Avery #8163).
Finally, add the embellishments. I wrapped the gift with baker's twine and attached a greenery sprig with pretty floral washi tape. But basically, you can use whatever you have on hand. Wrap it with yarn or ribbon. Accessorize with a clipping from your garden or a leftover ornament. Simple details can look beautiful.
And that's it. This pretty package is ready for giving.
